This includes from the former captain of the women’s team Mithali Raj to former cricketer Mohammad Kaif. This pension has been implemented from June 2022 i.e. from this month. According to the information given by the board, it has been increased to 5 slabs.
After this decision of BCCI, Mohammad Kaif wrote on social media, ‘My father played 60 first class matches. Scored close to 3000 runs and also scored 5 centuries. People of his time helped to grow this game even when there was no money. The BCCI has shown a big heart by remembering his contribution. He further said that thanks BCCI. It means a lot to retired players. My father Mohammad Tarif is always happy on getting pension. Money gives you security, while identity gives pride.
