IPL Media Rights: Viacom 18 gets media rights of IPL, Star gets another chance

New Delhi. The names of the companies that will acquire TV and digital media rights for the next 5 years of the Indian Premier League have been announced. This information was given from the official Twitter handle of IPL. These rights are for 2023 to 2027. The Board thanks Star Sports India for joining again. Meanwhile, Board Secretary Jay Shah has talked about getting digital rights to Viacom 18. At the same time, Star has got TV rights. He has shared information about it on social media. The board has got a total of Rs 48 thousand 390 crore from this.

A total of 4 categories of rights were started by the BCCI from Sunday, which ended today. The first package included TV rights from the Indian subcontinent. In the second package, the digital rights of the Indian subcontinent were included. The third package included digital rights to select matches, while the fourth package included TV and digital broadcast rights from outside the Indian subcontinent.

BCCI has planned to organize 410 matches of IPL in 5 years. 74-74 in 2023-24, 84-84 in 2025 and 2026 and 94 matches in 2027. From IPL 2022, 10 teams were given a chance instead of 8.

At the same time, Jay Shah has tweeted that Viacom 18 has got digital rights with Rs 23,758 crore. India has witnessed a digital revolution and there are endless possibilities in this field.
