The online payment app Paytm has now introduced Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana or Ayushman Bharat Health Insurance so that users can check their eligibility, the company said in a statement.
Ayushman Bharat Swasthya Bima Yojana is the flagship initiative of the Narendra Modi government which aims to ‘Digital Transformation in the Health Sector’.
The company said this is in line with the Government of India’s mission to promote digital transformation in healthcare. With the Paytm App, users can now access a list of private and government hospitals that offer the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Users will be able to locate the nearest hospital enrolled under this scheme and will also be able to access the entire spectrum of health insurance.
Paytm said users can show their health cover details to the hospital’s counselors and staff on their phones.
A Paytm spokesperson said in a statement, “We are committed to driving digital inclusion in India and online healthcare is an important part of this. The integration of PMJAY health cover on Paytm app will provide eligible users seamless access to government health schemes,”.
Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana provides health insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakh per family per year. The plan also covers patient hospitalization expenses, post-hospital care, food, medicine, diagnostic and laboratory testing facilities. This also includes the treatment of Kovid-19.
Users can also call the government helpline number 14555 to offer 24X7 assistance on the policy.
How to check eligibility
Here is how you can check your eligibility on Paytm App.
Step 1: Log in to Paytm App.
Step 2: Under Paytm Health, click on PMJAY option.
Step 3: Tap on the Check Eligibility option.
Step 4: Enter your state and fill details like name, ration card, HHD number, mobile number etc.
Step 5: User details along with family members will be displayed if you are eligible.
