New Delhi. Former Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli has congratulated the Indian athletes who won medals in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2022. India won a total of 61 medals including 22 gold in the 22nd edition of the Commonwealth Games. India finished fourth in the medal tally after Australia, England and Canada. Indian players also won 16 silver and 23 bronze medals. There were many sports where Indian athletes won medals for the first time.

33-year-old Virat Kohli tweeted from his official Twitter handle, ‘You all have made the country proud. Congratulations to all our medal winners and participants of CWG 2022. We are proud of you. Jai Hind.’ Virat Kohli, who has been going through poor form for some time, has returned to the Indian team for the upcoming Asia Cup. Virat Kohli was rested for Zimbabwe and West Indies tour but now he is back in the team.

Asia Cup will be organized from August 27
This tournament, to be held in T20 format, will be played in the UAE from August 27. Earlier it was to be held in Sri Lanka but due to the poor economic condition, it was decided to shift it to UAE. The final match of the tournament will be played on September 11. The Indian team will face arch-rivals Pakistan in its first match on August 28.

Virat Kohli will play 100th International T20 match against Pakistan
If Virat Kohli gets a chance in the T20 match against Pakistan, then he will make a special century in his name. This will be the 100th T20 International match of Kohli’s career. He will become the second Indian to play 100 or more T20 International matches. Captain Rohit Sharma has played the maximum number of 132 T20 Internationals for India.
