Takht and Ashwatthama did not stop due to budget, Kovid broke his back: Vicky

1 of 1

Vicky Kaushal, who was seen in Koffee With Karan-7, is in discussions these days. Apart from talking about his married life with Katrina Kaif, the actor opened up on the closure of his two big budget films. Significantly, two big films were announced about Vicky Kaushal about 4 years ago, one of which was Karan Johar’s ‘Takht’ himself, through which he was going to return to direction. But this film got boxed due to over budget and the second film was The Immortal Ashwatthama. However, Vicky Kaushal told Kovid the reason for their closure in Koffee with Karan.

Talking to Karan Johar, Vicky Kaushal said, the reason for the closure of both the films is only Kovid. I was emotionally very disappointed with the closure of the film. Both the projects were in a very good place but the timing of both of them going on floors was very different. I remember when Ashwatthama closed, I was shooting for Govinda Naam Mera with Shashank. I got a call that we are putting the film on hold for now. I had my trainer with me at that time and I told him all this. My trainer told me let’s go to the gym and I did the hardest exercise that day. This was the film for which I had prepared for almost two years. We were about to shoot the film soon.

Vicky Kaushal while reacting to such ups and downs in his journey said, “Such things stay with me only for a day and after that I become normal. That’s why I stop being emotional. I always miss it, yearn for it but it never sends me to a place where I feel sad about it. Even in this short journey, there have been times when I haven’t got a role. I only think that whatever happens happens for good. That’s all I want to say about Takht and Ashwatthama also.
