New Delhi. Former Indian cricketer Hemang Badani got injured during the pre-match show of the Asia Cup match between Sri Lanka and Afghanistan on 27 August. He was injured with the bat in his right hand. Badni was doing live with Krishnamachari Srikkanth on the Tamil feed of Star Sports. Explaining a shot mistakenly by the former India opener, the bat hit Badani’s hand. Badni was seen rubbing his right elbow while moaning. Though it initially appeared to be a mild hit, Badani was seen in pain later.

He was seen in a lot of pain during the show. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, in which Srikkanth’s bat can be seen getting hit on Badani’s hand. After the injury, Badani left the broadcast in the middle of the show. After this, in the video, Srikkanth can be seen apologizing to him.

After the video of the incident went viral, Hemang Badani took to Twitter to update his fans and well-wishers about himself. “For those asking how I am, I am in terrible pain, but fortunately there is no fracture. I have pain and am on medication. Hope I get well soon and get back on the sets.”

Let us inform that Afghanistan created panic in the opening match of Asia Cup 2022. They beat Sri Lanka by 8 wickets. Opting to bowl first, led by Fazal Haque Farooqui’s pace attack, Afghanistan bundled out Sri Lanka for 105 runs. Rehmanullah Gurbaz’s 40 and Hazratullah Zazai remained unbeaten on 37. Afghanistan chased down the target in the 11th over.
