Pakistan legend number-1 in scoring 50+ runs in a row, Sachin-Kohli not even in top-10

New Delhi. Javed Miandad is a big name in the world of cricket. Right now the ODI series is being played between Pakistan and West Indies (Pak vs WI). Pakistan won the first two matches and took an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match series. Captain Babar Azam scored a century in the first match and a half-century in the second match. Opener batsman Imam-ul-Haq scored half-centuries in both the matches. Both Babar and Imam have included themselves in the special list by playing an innings of more than 50 runs in the sixth consecutive ODI. Former Pakistan captain Miandad has done this the maximum number of times. This record, made in 1987, still stands today.

Javed Miandad did this feat between March and May 1987. During this, he played 78, 78*, 74*, 60, 52, 113, 71*, 68 and 103 in 9 ODIs. Miandad also scored 2 half-centuries against India during this period. No other batsman has been able to do this even 7 times. The other 11 batsmen combined have done this 6-6 times in a row. But no Indian batsman is involved in this. That is, from Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli, they have not been able to make a place in this special list.

Greenidge and Mark Waugh

Gordon Greenidge of West Indies has played an innings of more than 50 runs for 6 consecutive times. It includes a century. Apart from this Andrew Jones of New Zealand, Mark Waugh of Australia, Yusuf Yohana of Pakistan, Kane Williamson of New Zealand, Ross Taylor of New Zealand, Chris Gayle of West Indies, Paul Stirling of Ireland, Shai Hope of West Indies, Babar Azam and Imam-ul-Haq. Has also done this feat jointly 6-6 times.

Pakistan left 6 countries behind with 2 victories, Babar Azam overshadowed Team India too

Talking about Indian cricketers, no one has been able to do this feat more than 5 times. Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane and Rohit Sharma have done this 5-5 times. Kohli has done this feat 3 times. Apart from this, Navjot Singh Sidhu, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina and Shreyas Iyer have played an innings of more than 50 runs in 4-4 consecutive matches.
