London . Hollywood’s renowned singer-actress Lady Gaga, diver Tom Daly and the first all-male ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ couple were among the winners of the 2022 British LGBT Awards. According to sources, Vogue director Edward Enninful and singer Alicia Keys enjoyed an event in London on Friday.

The event was hosted by comedian Sue Parkins.

The awards show is the UK’s largest LGVT Plus awards event. “I am extremely honored to be a part of the 2022 LGBT Awards, especially as the UK celebrates 50 years of glory,” said Enninful, 50, on being presented her ‘Global Media Trailblazer’ award.

“Growing up as a young, black gay man in West London I could only imagine the day when events like this would celebrate people like me, and other incredible trailblazers to be recognized tonight.”

“My hope is that we all continue to push for positive change for the next generation.”

Keys, who received the ‘Celebrity Alley of the Year’ award, said via video link: “On a personal level, I’m honored to accept this award tonight. I’ve had the privilege of knowing all kinds of people. Ever since I was a little girl and fortunately exposed to the beauty and richness of diversity. She is all colours, all religions, all styles, all faiths, all love, all people.”

The 41-year-old hitmaker shared, “Trust me, I know hate is taught and judgment is taught, but we are light and we are love.”

“I can’t believe sometimes how much hate has to be overcome, but where there is light and love, there cannot be darkness and hatred.”

Meanwhile, Daly, 28, received the ‘Swinton Insurance Sports Personality of the Year’ award after speaking out against anti-LGBT plus laws.

Olympian Dame Kelly Holmes was a surprise presenter on the night for the ‘Celebrity Awards’ when the former athlete broke her 34-year silence in mid-June for being gay. If reports are to be believed, Gaga won the award.

‘Strictly Come Dancing’ duo Johannes Radebe, 35, and John White, 33, were presented with the ‘Media Moment of the Year’ trophy by show judge Shirley Ballas.

These were the first male same sex couple on the show.
