Ishan Kishan became India’s No.1 T20 batsman, climbed 68 places, Kohli also out of top-20

Dubai. Ishan Kishan jumped to the 7th position in the list of batsmen in the T20 rankings released by the International Cricket Council (ICC) on Wednesday. He got an advantage of 68 places. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal have also been rewarded for their good performance. Kishan has consistently performed well in the ongoing 5-match T20 series against South Africa. He has so far scored 164 runs in 3 matches with the help of 2 half-centuries, due to which he has managed to reach the top-10 in the list of batsmen in T20. Kishan is the only Indian batsman included in the top-10. That is, he has become India’s number-1 batsman. He is followed by KL Rahul at 14th place. Captains Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer have slipped a place each to 16th and 17th position respectively while Virat Kohli has slipped two places to 21st place.

In the bowling rankings, pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has moved up 7 places to 11th, while leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal has gained 4 places to be at 26th position. However, no Indian bowler has been able to make it to the top-10. Bhuvneshwar is the only Indian in the top-20. Australia’s Josh Hazlewood has regained his No. 1 spot in the T20 bowling rankings, while Sri Lanka’s Mahesh Teekshana has moved up 16 places to 8th position.

Babar Azam remains at number-1

There has also been a change in the top-5 ranking of batting. Pakistan captain Babar Azam remains on top with 818 points. Mohammad Rizwan has moved from third to second with 794 points. Aiden Markram has moved from second to third with 772 points. David Malan remains at the fourth position with 728 points. Aaron Finch has come at number 5 with 716 points. He got the advantage of a position. New Zealand’s Devon Conway is sixth, Ishan Kishan 7th, Rasi Van dur Dusen 8th, Pathum Nisanka 9th and Martin Guptill 10th.
