IPL-2022: Money will rain on the curator and groundsman who prepare the pitch, will get Rs 1.25 crore

New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a reward for the curator and groundsman who prepared the pitch during IPL-2022. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah gave this information on social media on Monday. Shah said that it is a pleasure to announce the prize money of Rs 1.25 crore for those who did a great job in the 15th season of IPL (IPL-2022). He described such curators and groundsmen as ‘unknown heroes’.

The BCCI has announced a total prize money of Rs 1.25 crore for the curators and groundsmen of 6 different grounds prepared for the IPL this season. These include Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Brabourne and DY Patil Stadium, apart from Rs 25 lakh each for the curator and groundsman of MCA Stadium in Pune, while Rs 12.5-12.5 lakh was given to the groundsman of Eden Gardens in Kolkata and Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Shah tweeted and wrote, ‘I am happy to announce the prize money of Rs 1.25 crores for those who help to watch the best matches in IPL-2022. The unsung hero – our pitch curator and groundsman who has done a great job this season on 6 different grounds.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah announced the reward.

He further wrote, ‘We saw some very exciting matches and I want to thank each of them for their hard work.’ He also gave the names and prize money of all the stadiums in which IPL-2022 matches were organized.

Let us tell you that the league matches of the 15th season of IPL were held in 3 stadiums in Mumbai and 1 in Pune. After this, Qualifier-1 and Eliminator matches were played at the historic Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata while Qualifier-2 and Final match were held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Titans, captained by star all-rounder Hardik Pandya, won the title in their first season by defeating former champions Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets.
