New Delhi. India created history by defeating 14-time champion Indonesia in the final of the Thomas Cup. India won this title for the first time in 73 years. India has become the sixth country to win this title. In the title match, the Indian badminton team, adorned with Kidambi Srikanth, Lakshya Sen, defeated Indonesia 3-0. Lakshya Sen won the first match of the final and gave the team a 1-0 lead. Lakshya defeated Anthony Sinisuka 8–21, 21- 17, 21-16.

Lakshya Sen, who failed to perform as expected in the semi-finals, made no mistake in the final. After losing the first game badly, he came back in the second game and started putting pressure on Anthony. He won the next two games brilliantly.

Satwik and Chirag had to sweat

Indonesia got its first defeat in the tournament
