IND vs ENG 1st ODI: Team India came out to play without Virat, return of 5 players including Pandya-Bumrah, see playing XI

New Delhi. The ODI series between India and England has started. The first match of the series is being played from 5.30 pm on Tuesday. The Indian team has landed in this match without Virat Kohli. Virat Kohli has not been included in the playing XI due to injury. No specialist batsman has been included in his place in the team. Due to this, the responsibility of batting on all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja will increase.

Earlier, India played the last ODI match against West Indies on 11 February. Out of the 11 players that India had fielded in the match against West Indies, 5 are not playing in today’s match against England. These players are Virat Kohli, Washington Sundar, Deepak Chahar, Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammad Siraj. Kohli is injured. Siraj has been kept out of the playing XI. While Sundar, Chahar and Kuldeep are not included in the team itself.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bowl first. When asked about the playing XI, he said that some unwanted changes have to be made due to the injury. Rohit was pointing towards Kohli, who is not playing due to injury. As expected, the Indian team management did not include any specialist batsman in place of Kohli. The main reason for this is that all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja have returned to the team. The depth of the batting has increased with the return of these two.

Apart from Hardik Pandya and Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal have also returned to the team. In this way, except the famous Krishna in the bowling lineup, all the players are those who were not part of the team in the last ODI match. On the other hand, Team India’s batting lineup has all the same names (Rohit, Shikhar, Shreyas, Suryakumar, Pant), who also played in the last ODI match.

India (Playing XI): Rohit Sharma (captain), Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wicketkeeper), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Prashant Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal.

England (Playing XI): Jason Roy, Jonny Bairstow, Joe Root, Ben Stokes, Jos Buttler (c), Liam Livingstone, Moeen Ali, Craig Overton, Reece Topley, Brydon Kars, David Willey.
