New Delhi. Celebrating 75 glorious years of independence, the whole of India has painted itself in the colors of the tricolor. From flag hoisting in homes to patriotic songs being sung in every locality, energy is infused throughout the country on this special occasion. On this occasion, former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni (MS Dhoni), who is known for his patriotism, is also celebrating independence fiercely. Dhoni has expressed his sentiment through his social media.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not very active on social media, but to join the celebration of 75 years of independence, he has made some changes in his Instagram account after almost two years. Dhoni has changed the profile picture of his Instagram. Dhoni has put the Indian flag as his profile picture on the photo and video blogging website.

Putting a picture of the tricolor, Dhoni wrote- ‘I am blessed to be an Indian.’ This line is written in the profile picture in all three languages Hindi, English and Sanskrit.
The former Indian captain has a huge fan following. He is considered one of the finest cricketers. He has made a different identity in the sports world as a wicketkeeper, captain and finisher. Dhoni is the only captain in cricket history who has won all three ICC trophies. Under Dhoni’s captaincy, India has won T20 World Cup 2007, ODI World Cup 2011 and Champions Trophy 2013.
Not only this, even during his active days as an international cricketer, Dhoni considered national duty above everything else in his life. He was not even close to his wife Sakshi on the birth of their daughter Jeeva for cricket.

When asked about this, Dhoni had said, “I have got a daughter. Both mother and daughter are good. But right now I am on national duty, so I guess everything else can wait. The World Cup is a very important campaign.” Apart from carrying out his cricketing duties with 100% commitment, Dhoni also appeared with the Indian Army on various occasions. The 41-year-old Dhoni holds the honorary rank of lieutenant colonel in the Indian Territorial Army and is also a qualified paratrooper.
Dhoni also took a brief stint with the Territorial Army unit of the Parachute Regiment (106 Para TA Battalion) in Jammu and Kashmir after the 2019 ODI World Cup.
