Booster dose will be given for free only for 75 days! Know the future plan of the Ministry of Health regarding vaccination

New Delhi. From today, the process of applying booster dose of Corona Vaccine to people of 18 to 59 years has started across the country. The Modi government has decided to run this mega campaign of preconception dose for 75 days to commemorate the nectar festival of independence. Recently, the Health Ministry had prepared a plan to give booster doses for free. Under the National Kovid Vaccination Campaign, three major vaccines are being implemented in the country at present, Covishield, Covaccine and Corbivax. Covishield is administered to persons above 18 years of age, Covaccine to persons over 18 years of age, as well as to young people aged 15 to 18 years. Whereas, Corbivax is being applied to adolescent girls between 12 and 15 years of age.

Now the speed of preconception dose will increase
Let us tell you that the Modi government in the country is running ‘Har Ghar Dastak Abhiyan’ to increase the speed of preconception dose in the country. But, in the last one month, on an average only 13 lakh vaccines could be administered per day. In today’s situation, about 11.06 crore vaccine doses are available in government centers in the country. Covishield has 3.93 crores, Covaccine 3.97 crores and Corbivax 3.16 crores doses.

Prior to July 15, 2022, precaution doses were being given free of cost only to persons above 60 years of age and healthcare-frontline workers.

What is the next preparation for vaccination
Prior to July 15, 2022, precaution doses were being given free of cost only to persons above 60 years of age and healthcare-frontline workers. Till a few days ago, people in the age group of 18 to 59 years were also charged precaution doses, but now the Modi government has decided to impose precaution doses for the next 75 days for this age group as well.

This step was taken before the expiry of the vaccine
Let us tell you that the self-live of the vaccine is 9 to 12 months. The states are being informed every month about the expiry of the vaccine available in the country. The Ministry of Health continuously instructs the states to eliminate the expired medicines first. There has also been a lot of cooperation from the states in this work. With the help of the Ministry of Health, crores of vaccines in the country which would have expired after a month or two, are now being provided free of cost.

There was a shortage in vaccination
Significantly, it has been about 9 months or more for most of the population after taking the second dose. In such a situation, it is natural for them to have low levels of antibodies. Despite this, there is not much awareness among the people for precaution doses, whatever precaution doses are taking, they are taking it free of cost or through government centers.

Health Ministry did such work
In such a situation, Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, in conversation with the Health Department and vaccine makers, has decided in the past that if the scope of the amount of vaccine available in the country is increased, then not only will the rate of vaccination be accelerated, but the vaccine will expire. can also be saved. If it is made free, then more people will be attracted for booster dose in the country.

In this decision, the age group of 45 to 59 years will also be levied free of cost at government centers. Let us tell here that by July 5, 2022, more than 150 million people of this age group have become suitable for preconception dosage. But, out of these, only 27.5 lakh people have got the preconception dose. Whereas 42 percent of eligible persons above 60 years of age have got precaution dose, which is likely due to its free availability.
