Ticket sales for Asia Cup will start from August 15
New Delhi. Asia Cup is starting on 27th August. Sri Lanka and Afghanistan will clash in the opening match. The next day i.e. on August 28, India and Pakistan will clash in Dubai. Cricket fans of both the countries are eagerly waiting for this match. Its tickets will start selling from August 15. The Asian Cricket Council gave this information by tweeting. The ACC wrote, ‘The sale of tickets for the Asia Cup 2022 will start from August 15.’ Along with this, ACC also shared information about the online platform through which fans can buy tickets for the Asia Cup.
Major cricket countries including India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh have already qualified for the tournament while the qualifiers are to be played in Oman between UAE, Kuwait, Singapore and Hong Kong. Its first match will be played between Hong Kong and Singapore on 20 August.
Asia Cup was to be held in Sri Lanka earlier
Talking about the Asia Cup, this tournament was to be played in Sri Lanka this year, but due to political and economic instability there, the organizing committee decided to move the tournament to the UAE. Regarding this, the ACC had said in a statement, “Given the current situation in Sri Lanka, the ACC, after extensive deliberations, has unanimously concluded that it would be appropriate to move the tournament from Sri Lanka to the UAE.”
Indian team has gone to Zimbabwe tour
Let us tell you that before the Asia Cup, the Indian team will play a series of 3 ODIs against Zimbabwe from 18 August. However, players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant are not playing in this series. KL Rahul is returning to the Indian team from this tour. He has been named the captain for the ODI series against Zimbabwe. Apart from him, Deepak Chahar will also return to the team after 6 months.
