6-year-old Meera injured by Rohit Sharma’s shot, Indian captain later came to meet her

New Delhi. The Indian cricket team defeated England by 10 wickets in the first ODI (ENG vs IND 1st ODI) of the series played at the Kennington Oval ground in London on Tuesday. Captain Rohit Sharma played an unbeaten innings of 76 runs in this match. However, a 6-year-old girl got injured due to her pull shot. Due to this the game was stopped for some time. The physio of the England cricket team later treated that girl named Meera.

The incident happened in the 5th over of India’s innings, when it was hit by left-arm fast bowler David Willey. Rohit Sharma Hits a great pull shot. The ball went in the fine leg direction and hit Meera, a 6-year-old girl sitting in the stands. The game had to be stopped for a while. During this, a man sitting in the stands was also seen handling the girl.

Meera got immediate medical help and the game was soon resumed. This made it clear that all was well and nothing untoward had happened. Even after the resumption of the game, Rohit continued his attack on the English bowlers and the team achieved an easy target of 111 runs in 18.4 overs.

Meanwhile, it is learned that Indian captain Rohit Sharma had also gone to meet Meera later. The Barmy Army gave information about this on Twitter. He wrote in the post, ‘Tomorrow shout for the physio of the England team. 6-year-old Meera got a shot of Rohit Sharma in the crowd and they quickly ran to see him. She was fine and later in the day Sharma himself went to meet her.

The Barmy Army informed that Rohit had also gone to meet Meera later.

Talking about the match, the Indian bowlers bundled out England’s innings for just 110 runs. Pacer Jasprit Bumrah took 6 wickets giving 19 runs in his career best performance. After this, thanks to the unbeaten century partnership of Rohit and Shikhar, India achieved the target in 18.4 overs without any wicket falling. The second ODI of the series will be played on 14 July at the historic Lord’s ground in London.
