2025 NFL Draft: Carson Beck Takes the Lead as Shedeur Sanders Slips
As we inch closer to the 2025 NFL Draft, favorite to go No. 1 overall, Shedeur Sanders’ odds have begun to take a hit. Just two weeks into the season, Beck now has the best odds of going No. 1 with Georgia, with Sanders falling to second. With that said, let’s take a closer look at the top selections based on the most recent odds for the 2025 NFL Draft as of September 11 using information from DraftKings Sportsbook:

Shedeur Sanders’ performance:
Passing for an impressive 445 yards on 26-of-34 accuracy, with four touchdowns and one interception, just helped Colorado pull out a close 31-26 win over North Dakota State. But then, a freshman’s statistics weren’t enough to give the Buffaloes any wider margin.
Meanwhile, Carson Beck and his Georgia Bulldogs left no mistake in their first game, severely dismantling No. 14-ranked Clemson with a score of 34-3. Beck passed for 278 yards with two touchdown throws, while completing 23 of his 33 passes.
He opened the year by throwing for five touchdowns and 242 yards in a 48-3 win over Tennessee Tech in Week 2.
Meanwhile, Sanders and Colorado never got it going in suffering their first loss of the season, 28-10 at the hands of Nebraska. Sanders was 23-for-38 passing for 244 yards with a touchdown and an interception for a QBR of 24.4. The difficulties to the game were added to when Sanders was sacked five times and finished with -30 rushing yards.
What does the future hold for Beck and Sanders?
Sanders’ chances for the first-overall selection have dimmed—but it is still early in the year, and there is plenty of time to make up ground. Beck’s momentum, however, suggests he’s the name to watch as we look ahead to the 2025 NFL Draft.
