KL Rahul’s fitness test was not done due to being corona positive

New Delhi. After the series of 3 ODIs between India and West Indies (IND v WI), 5 T20s will also be played. Some players included in the team of T20 series will fly from India to West Indies on Monday. It includes Kuldeep Yadav, R Ashwin, Dinesh Karthik, Ravi Bishnoi and Harshal Patel. At the same time, captain Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant will reach West Indies from England. However, will KL Rahul, who is undergoing rehabilitation after a sports hernia surgery, be a part of the Indian team during the T20I series? It’s not clear yet. He has also recently got corona and he is currently in isolation.

Kuldeep Yadav has been included in the Indian team for the T20 series against West Indies. He injured his right hand while batting in the nets during the T20I series against South Africa in June. That’s why he was running out of the team. However, his decision to play in the T20 series against West Indies was to be done after the fitness test. A day earlier, Kuldeep shared a picture of himself on Instagram, it became clear that he is fit and is reaching West Indies.

Doubts on KL Rahul playing in early matches
KL Rahul also had to undergo a fitness test on Sunday. But, before that he got corona. Their mandatory quarantine period of 7 days will end on July 27. Rahul will come out of isolation only after two reports of Corona come negative and only then will he have a fitness test. They will also have to undergo a cardio-vascular test, which has been made mandatory by the BCCI for players recovering from Corona. In such a situation, KL Rahul may not have been out of the entire T20 series. But, the chances of him playing in the first two matches of the series starting on July 29 are slim. Because after completing all the formalities, he will be able to join the team in West Indies only till July 30 or 31.

The Indian squad for the T20 series against West Indies is as follows: Rohit Sharma (capt), Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul* (will play after passing fitness test), Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Hooda, Shreyas Iyer, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Rishabh Pant (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel , R Ashwin, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Avesh Khan, Harshal Patel and Arshdeep Singh.
