Diet and yoga to protect against thyroid

Thyroid is one of the most common diseases in India after heart disease and diabetes. It is present in our throat which produces thyroid hormone. Many activities of our body are controlled by this hormone.

thyroid At the base of the human neck is a butterfly-shaped gland, which weighs about 20 grams. The thyroid gland is also known as the master gland of our complex, endocrine system. This gland controls metabolism and energy.

Thyroid is one of the most common diseases in India after heart disease and diabetes. It is present in our throat which produces thyroid hormone. Many activities of our body are controlled by this hormone. For example, how fast do you burn calories or how fast your heart beats. Thyroid disease causes our body to make either too many or too few hormones.

You may often feel restless or tired, or you may gain or lose weight because of how much or how little hormone your thyroid makes. Women are more prone to thyroid disease than men, especially after pregnancy or menopause.

Cause and Effect
The thyroid gland produces three types of hormones – T3, T4 and calcitonin. T3 and T4 thyroxine together take care of the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats. The tri-iod thyronine hormone produced from them controls the chemical reaction of almost all the cells of the body, thereby promoting the speed of metabolism of various parts of the body. They also take care of the heat in the body.

The function of calcitonin is to stimulate osteoblasts if the amount of calcium in the blood increases. It removes excess calcium from the blood and puts it in the bones. The thyroid gland also takes care of the oxygen in the body in the right amount and the carbon dioxide comes out in the right amount. The thyroid gland releases iodine, which helps in quick wound healing. That is why in neurotherapy to heal old wounds, 4-thyroid (the name of the treatment) is given.

The thyroid gland is also related to the female genitals. Therefore, giving thyroid in women’s disease will be beneficial. If the amount of T-3, T4 in the blood is low then it is called hypothyroidism and if its amount is increased then it is called hyper thyroid region. The enlargement of the thyroid gland is called goiter. There are many reasons for this-

  • Irritation (inflammation) of the thyroid gland due to infection
  • tumor in the thyroid gland
  • Iodine deficiency in food or water

Excreted in excess by the thyroid gland, but according to the need, T4 is converted into T3 in the body. The temperature of the body is controlled by this hormone. They control the speed of BMR ie metabolism and stimulate all the cells of the body to work properly. Its main effect is mainly on the metabolism of carbohydrates. That is why when the thyroid gland is underactive, it becomes a cause of diabetes, because diabetes is a disease related to the metabolism of sugar. These stimulate the action of growth hormone and increase the rate of ATP production inside the cells.

hyperthyroidism
In hyperthyroidism, the thyroid gland becomes overactive. This type of thyroid produces too much of the hormone. Hyperthyroidism affects about 1 percent of women. It is less common in men. The most common cause of hyperthyroidism is Graves’ disease, which affects about 70 percent of people with an overactive thyroid. Lumps on the thyroid are also a condition called toxic nodular goiter or multinodular goiter. It can be caused by the production of too much hormone by the thyroid gland.

Hypothyroidism is the opposite of hyperthyroidism. In this, the thyroid gland becomes underactive and cannot produce enough hormones. Hypothyroidism is often caused by Hashimoto’s disease. Most cases of hypothyroidism are not that serious. Sometimes it can lead to more serious complications, such as high cholesterol and heart disease.

Thyroid disease can stop your menstrual cycle for several months or longer, which is called amenorrhea. If your immune system triggers thyroid disease, it can affect other glands, including your ovaries. This can lead to menopause (before the age of 40).

Problems getting pregnant: When thyroid disease affects the menstrual cycle or menstrual cycle, it also affects ovulation. This can make it difficult for women to get pregnant.

Thyroid treatment: Thyroid is treated on the basis of its symptoms and its type.

Diet and Nutrition: Protein, calcium, magnesium and iodine help your thyroid function properly. Make sure you are consuming a diet rich in Vitamin B, Vitamin A and Vitamin C. If you don’t have enough iodine in your diet, taking selenium can lead to hypothyroidism.
